On the joyous occasion of double celebration this year, the theme of the flower show is “Celebrating the 75ᵗʰ Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25ᵗʰ Anniversary of Macao’s Return to the Motherland”. The floral art displays showcase an assortment of over 20 varieties of blossoms and up to 9,000 pots of seasonal flowers and botanic objects, creating an impressive landscape of dazzling colours. Visitors can immerse themselves in the delightful ambience of these flowers in full bloom, which symbolise prosperity.

The flower show consists of four themed exhibition areas, namely the Protocol Palace front courtyard display area, the Protocol Palace indoor display area, the lawn display area and the flower pergola display area.

Sports and Music・Vibrant Macao (Protocol Palace front courtyard display area): with the selected events of the National Games hosted by Macao and musical compositions as the motif, Macao’s unique image as the “City of Sports” and “City of Performing Arts” is presented through a symphony of vibrant colors, highlighting the city’s energy and vitality.

Green Community・Flowers and Butterflies (Protocol Palace indoor display area): the backdrop of this area is threaded with different shades of greenery and butterflies fluttering on flowers, while the display area is adorned with a floral extravaganza accentuating the city’s prosperity. The display also aims to call for everyone’s effort to build a livable community and a green Macao together.

A Future of Prosperity・Braving Wind and Waves (lawn display area): the motif of this area is a parterre arranged in the shape of a sailboat and the lighthouse of Macao connected by the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. With the double celebration of the 75ᵗʰ National Day and the 25ᵗʰ anniversary of Macao’s return to its motherland as the thematic subject, the floral display presents the metaphorical message that Macao is a sailboat, braving wind and waves, making advancements with its motherland in united effort since its handover. Our motherland will continue to lead Macao as they journey on together to scale new heights.

Maritime Silk Road・Window of Exchange (flower pergola display area): with elements such as shaped windows on the floral walls, the design presents the analogy that Macao has always been a window of exchange between China and the rest of the world for hundreds of years. Coupled with the polychromatic light installations are the silhouettes of Macao architecture, creating a variety of photo-taking spots for visitors and reflecting Macao’s role as an important window for auspicious diversity and cultural exchanges.
